Lewis explains, "The types of developers that we seek to support includes but is not limited to developers who are led by those from Black, Indigenous, Latino or LGBTQIA+ communities, women, developers with disabilities, developers from emerging markets or teams with unique perspectives. For porting, the program offers "non-recoupable" funding (which "does not require exclusivity or company equity") to help devs "by offsetting their porting investment." Webinars will take place each month, called Green Room events, which will help devs talk with experts about things like marketing tips. This, says program head James Lewis, aims to "empower underrepresented creators with the resources and information needed to bring their creativity, innovation, and originality to Xbox" by focusing on porting, information, and prototypes. On top of this new process, Microsoft is also implementing the new Developer Acceleration Program.
